Jessica Ribera moved from Amarillo, TX to Seattle, WA at seventeen years old to dance with the Pacific Northwest Ballet. A stage accident cut short her budding career, and her memoir, The Almost Dancer, explores the loss and renewal found in a life after ballet. Upper School* dancers are invited to join her at Doxa for a time of hearing her story and discussion, followed by ballet class and pointe/variations.
*Dancers do not have to be enrolled at Doxa to participate. Dancers should be considered advanced ballet students, ideally with pointe experience.

In 2020, Doxa revisits our very first story ballet! Esther features dancers 4 years old and up and is classical in style. It tells the story of brave queen Esther who risked her life to save her people. It points us forward to Jesus who gave his life freely to save us.
If you know a particular dancer you'd like to see, be sure to check with them for their performance time(s). Most dancers perform in one performance.
