Photo Day is a free event. You are helping us out!

Each level will come at the assigned time and gather in the specified studio. The Doxa photographer will move from one group to another. Once the photographer has visited your studio, those dancers will be dismissed. Parents of younger dancers should stay nearby in case we finish early! However, we will ask parents not stand at the windows to avoid being in the pictures.

FAQ: My level changed for next season -- do I come with my old level or my new level?

The defining issue for the purposes of this event is dress code! For that reason, we ask dancers to come with their OLD level. This just helps ensure everyone has the items they need for the dress code.

DRESS CODE IS REQUIRED: part of the purpose of these photos are to demonstrate ideal examples of Doxa's dress code. Because of that, please closely follow the guidance below. Unfortunately, dancers who show up not in dress code will not be able to participate in the photos.

-- Females in all levels -- full-footed ballet tights and ballet shoes, hair in a performance-ready ballet bun, no jewelry, an optional ballet skirt (but not a puffy tutu) can be attached to the leotard or separate; no extra accessories!
-- Males in any levels -- t-shirt in the co-ed level color, or black, or white, preferably fitted (not overly baggy), and no large logos or words (small athletic brand logo okay); black joggers or athletic pants (no shorts for this day); black or tan ballet shoes

Level Colors:

• ROSEBUDS: white leotard
• SWEET PEAS: light pink leotard
• BUTTERCUPS: yellow leotard
• DAISIES: green leotard
• LILIES: dark pink leotard
• POPPIES: red leotard
• BLUEBONNETS: light blue leotard
• LILACS: light purple leotard (bring a Theraband and wear convertible tights)
• IRISES: dark purple leotard (bring character skirt & shoes if you have them)
• TULIPS: burgundy/dark red leotard (wear convertible tights)
• VIOLETS: royal blue/medium blue leotard, (bring pointe shoes)
• ORCHIDS: navy leotard; dark teal okay, (bring pointe shoes)

THIS IS NOT A FULL CLASS: Please note that all Photo Day slots are for the express purpose of a Doxa photographer capturing in-studio photos to use on our website, social media, especially registration promotion. Dancers may or may not be recognizable in the photos (i.e. some may be close ups of hands, feet, from the back, but others may show faces). They will move through a few elements of a typical class but not fully complete exercises, just coached through poses. When your dancer's group has taken photos, they will be finished!

PHOTO PERMISSION: Please ensure your dancer's Photo Opt Out setting in the parent portal is NOT checked (meaning that photos ARE okay) - change it to unchecked if needed. Enrolling your dancer in this event serves as your consent: all photos taken are owned by and can be used by Doxa Dance Ministry for marketing purposes. Please do not participate in this event if you do not consent to this use.
