Participating Entities

Why Participate in Doxa's Audition Hub?

One Audition, More Opportunities

Be seen by representatives from several companies and ministries without traveling to multiple auditions.

We know you are eager to use your gifts for God’s glory in new ways. There are numerous avenues for dancers to create art in missional and Christ-centered environments. This event gives dancers a cost-effective way to explore multiple opportunities at once!

Like-Minded Passion

Ever feel like you just don't know what's out there for Christian dancers? This event is an intentional effort to bring together leaders with a similar passion and mission for art that honors the Lord. Participating entities will share information about their work, the community they serve, upcoming opportunities, and the training or career programs they have.

Be sure to follow our Instagram account leading up to the event, as entities will be highlighted there as well!

Broaden Your Reach

We want to connect dancers with new  opportunities both now and for the future. Whether you’re seeking extended training, a summer intensive to attend, or a place to minister through dance for years to come, this audition could be the next step in making the connection you need.

FAQ

Location

Amarillo is located in the Panhandle of Texas. This vibrant, medium-sized and growing community is geographically central in the United States with very affordable accommodations. Amarillo is easily accessible through Rick Husband International Airport and the convergence of I-40 and I-27.

Cost

Dancers pay a $45 registration fee to participate in the joint audition. In most cases, this fee replaces any cost that would be incurred by following an individual entity's audition process separately. In some situations, entities may operate with a multi-step audition process and this event serves to replace one part of those requirements. Any further requirements will be communicated by the entity when selection/acceptance emails are sent.

Dress Code

Female dancers should wear a black leotard and pink* full-length tights, and pink ballet flats. A short black dance skirt is allowed, but optional. Female dancers ages 13+ and in at least their 2nd year of pointe should bring their pointe shoes for the pointe segment. Hair in a classical ballet style.

Male dancers should wear a white t-shirt, black full-length jogger-style athletic pants, and ballet flats.

*Color: dancers may wear tights and shoes in the color closest to their natural skin tone, if preferred.

Selection Process

Participating entities will observe the joint audition classes and make their own assessments and selections of attending dancers. Dancers will be contacted within two weeks using the primary email address provided in the registration form. In their communication, entities will specify to what program(s) the dancer is accepted or extend invitations to the next step in their consideration process. All follow-up communication is the responsibility of participating entities.

Eligibility & Requirements for Dancers

Dancers should register according to the age they will be at time of the audition.  Eligibility for each program varies by participating entity - in general, younger dancers are eligible for summer intensive opportunities while older dancers may be considered for trainee, company, and other ensemble positions, some of whom are restricted to high school graduates or 18+. We recommend visiting each entity's website to learn more about their organization.

All dancers attend the seminar portion in which each entity representative give a presentation. Parents are welcome to attend the seminar as well - no additional siblings, please.

Please bring two hardcopy photos - a headshot and a first arabesque. You will give both photos to us at check-in and receive a number to wear in class. Copies of the photos will be marked with your number and shared with all entity representatives to assist them in their evaluations and selection.
